36 weeks and still holding out

I had my check ups today and I haven't progressed at all since last week...we are still scheduled for a c-section on Aug. 7th but that's 10 days away and I could go into labor anytime before that. We'll all just have to wait and see, but in the mean time Andie and I are on pins and needles. We can't wait and the anticipation is killing us!!

Next Tuesday I see the docs again and they will measure the babies weights, I'm guessing over 5 lbs. a piece by then! My belly is feeling very stretched these days- I measured the circumference and it came in at 41 inches! That's pretty big. I'm up to 158 lbs and my feet and ankles are chubby! Can't wait for the water retention to go away.

Any day now!

I'm 35 weeks now, and today and yesterday I had my rounds of doctor visits. My OB scheduled a c-section for August 7th but said she did not believe I would make it that far. When I asked her when she thought it would be, she said she would bet on sometime next week. I am 80% effaced and 1-2 centimeters dilated. She was surprised I had progressed that much just since last week and doesn't see me holding out much longer!

The cardiologist gave me two thumbs up...no change in my status which is good. He does not need to see me again until after I deliver. Both twins looked great and are growing and moving!

We'll let you all know when we're heading to the hospital!

A "2 peas in the pod" baby shower!

This past weekend I had another baby shower with a "2 peas in the pod" theme- it was all so cute! My sister in-law Amy and Andie's aunt Kathy hosted the shower for me at Andie's Grandmommie's house. They did an awesome job!



Here's some of the beautiful flowers, and those little pea pods on the table are bath fizzy balls inside felt pea pods...too cute!

It was a great day with lots of great gifts including some very generous gift cards. Tomorrow I'm going shopping for the last minute items we'll need for the girls! Thanks everyone for such great gifts and a wonderful day!!
