The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

****

The "GOOD"....
I've had a week off of work due to the swine flu outbreak and it was great to have some R&R. Andie and I spent a day at the lake which was very relaxing and fun! I'm pregnant and wearing a bathing suit...never thought I'd see the day! We also got some work done on the bookshelves in the nursery and they are completely installed- we're getting really excited that the nursery is coming along!

Working on my tan at the lake!

Here's the finished product of the bookshelves- we're thrilled with all the added storage they'll provide!

The "BAD"....
The bad was that getting those shelves put in was a LOT of work- priming, painting, painting again for a second coat, then installing into the room. I overdid myself and my back and feet hurt for a couple days afterward :(
****
We had to bring them in through the window cause they wouldn't fit through the hallway! Boy am I glad my husband is strong!

Andie and Jordan working on last minute details...such a nice gift from uncle Jordan and his friend to build and install!

The ceilings are 10 feet tall so it took three guys to lift the top shelf into place- it was difficult but they got it in good and snug.

Here's the shelves prior to being primed and painted- I'm not volunteering for that job again anytime soon!

The "UGLY"....
Here's my skinny ankles and my swollen, fat, UGLY ankles! Doesn't get any uglier than that!

23 weeks!

Mom had a BBQ at her house over the weekend so Andie and I took advantage of the photo op since we were both dressed decent. I bought some more maternity clothes because Penney's was having a buy one, get one for 88 cents sale- I got enough stuff to get me through the rest of the pregnancy in style!

Went to the doctor yesterday and everything was "perfect" according to her!!! Love to hear that word coming from a doctor! Baby A had done some more acrobatics and flipped herself around so she's no longer head down. Both babies are head up which looks much sweeter than having their feet in each other's faces. They are both moving all the time so I'm sure they won't stay in this position for long. The doctor told me to gain about a pound a week from here on out...I was a little worried that I had gained 5 pounds in the past two weeks alone, but she said I was right on track and doing really well- only up 19-20 pounds total. I think some of that must be water weight since I can't get my ankles to stop swelling!
Our entire school district is closed down until May 11th due to the swine flu so maybe I'll get enough rest and keep my feet up enough over the next week and a half that my ankles will get a nice break. I'm looking forward to a little R&R! Maybe I'll get the nursery painted.

Interior design in my next life...

I have been having so much fun looking at things and designing the nursery that I think I might go into interior design in my next life. It's waaaaay more fun than my day job! I've hired someone to custom build some bookshelves and cabinets for storage in the nursery and I'll be sure to post before and after pics once that process gets underway. I've also done a little more "design" work to the blog as you can see. I have to thank cousin Brook for helping me figure out how to do it!

I'm doing custom nursery bedding for each girl. Mom helped me narrow down fabric and paint swatches and caught a picture of me contemplating the big decision! I'll put pictures of the actual bedding up once I get it...I know it's kinda hard to envision how it will all come together from a few scraps of fabric. I can't wait to see the finished product!

I went to the doctor today and everything looked great with both babies and with me. I'm still having some swelling in my ankles by the end of the day but the doctors are not concerned at all because my blood pressure is staying so low. In fact, today is was 93/44- not bad! The twins are moving A LOT- Andie and I watched my belly bounce around last night which is pretty cool to see! They have moved position a little bit. They were both laying horizontally but now Baby A has her head down and her feet near my belly button and Baby B has her feet near A's face and her head over to the right side of my abdomen. On the sonogram today Baby A yawned and then tried several times to get her thumb in her mouth- she's still not very coordinated just yet and couldn't quite make the connection but it was fun to watch her! We are so anxious to meet these sweet little things!!!

I posted a new belly pic to the right for those who care to see my ever increasing expanse of pale white belly!
